Advisor Group Genesis Series

Engaging cross-generational clients … evolving fiduciary standards … innovative technologies … today ’ s advisory professionals encounter many challenges as they serve a diverse client base in an ever-changing industry. Advisor Group ’ s January 2017 launch of The Genesis Series equips advisors to flourish in such an environment. This ALL account solution is comprised of four competitively priced, lower minimum strategies managed by world-class investing firms. By design, this offering can either augment current advisory client portfolios or introduce investment advisory to a new audience. Partnering with Envestnet’s Portfolio Management Consultants and Russell Investments, Genesis Series features various investment mode l portfolio strategies/styles/products; its low entry point of $5,500 appeals to newer advisory clients, while its solid institutional-class managers address the demands of investors with larger accounts. Since the Genesis Series launch only four months ago, our advisors have embraced these portfolios, with over 2,500 accounts opened and approximately $83M in assets invested. The goal of the Genesis Series is two-fold: to offer the value of advice to ALL accounts and to introduce our advisors ’ clients to an advisory relationship from the start of their investing journey. Providing clients large and small with the ongoing guidance they need to plan for retirement, save for their children ’ s education, and be prepared for the expected – as well as the unexpected – is the mandate our advisors all share. Now, with the Genesis Series, such financial guidance is within the reach of a much broader audience.

At Advisor Group, we maintain that we are operating in a Fiduciary Era. As such, we believe advisors incorporating a fee-based advisory model in their practices will be well-positioned for success today and tomorrow. Our challenge is two-fold: equip current fee-based advisors with advanced tools; and provide advisors not yet using this model the impetus – and the means – to make the move to advisory.

Advisor Group’s Accelerate With Advisory (AWA) program encourages advisors to incorporate a fee-based investment advisory model into their practice — with our firm’s support all along the way. AWA includes an advisory license reimbursement program that covers the cost of the exam and study programs, a comprehensive online library of tools and resources, and personalized support. We wanted to get in front of our advisors, to share our program with advisors in person, sowe hit the road, travelling to15 cities across the country to spread the advisory message. These AWA workshops resonated with advisors on many fronts: industry leader Envestnet shared best-in-class practice management programs, from re-developing a value proposition and segmenting clients to having the initial fee conversations with clients… and more. To help advisors garner “real world” perspective, peer-to-peer sessions — featuring advisors new to advisory — highlighted lessons learned and how to avoid potential issues.We want our advisors to sell themselves rather than a product. We’ve met with them, in their own backyard, to share the benefits of advisory and to lay out our support.
